Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Orbost in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (200 females or 27.7%)
  • Education and Training (109 females or 15.1%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (76 females or 10.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 385 females in total or 53.3% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Regional VIC employed 26.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.1% in Education and Training; and 4.5% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Orbost and Regional VIC were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (10.5% compared to 4.5%)
