Dominant groups
Analysis of the year of arrival for the overseas born Chinese languages speaking population of Cumberland City Council in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a smaller proportion of people who arrived before 2010, and a larger proportion of recent overseas arrivals (those who arrived between 2016 and 2021).
Overall, 64.2% of the overseas born Chinese languages speaking population arrived before 2010, and 20.0% arrived during or after 2016, compared with 65.1% and 18.2% respectively for Greater Sydney.
The major differences between the year of arrival data of the Chinese languages speaking population of Cumberland City and Greater Sydney were:
