Dominant groups

Analysis of the female five year age groups of Toowoomba Regional Council in 2021 compared to South East Queensland shows that there was a higher proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a higher proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 18.6% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 20.5% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 17.8% and 17.2% respectively for South East Queensland.

The major differences between the female age structure of Toowoomba Regional Council and South East Queensland were:
