Analysis of the car ownership of the households in Colac Otway Shire in 2016 compared to Rural North shows that 84.8% of the households owned at least one car, while 5.1% did not, compared with 89.6% and 0.8% respectively in Rural North.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car; a smaller proportion who owned two cars; and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 31.9% of the households owned one car; 33.4% owned two cars; and 19.4% owned three cars or more, compared with 22.7%; 35.8% and 31.1% respectively for Rural North.
