There were more managers in Hinterland Region in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Hinterland Region in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Managers (421 people or 17.2%)
  • Labourers (359 people or 14.7%)
  • Professionals (334 people or 13.7%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,114 people in total or 45.6% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, South Grafton employed 8.3% in Managers; 18.2% in Labourers; and 11.6% in Professionals.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Hinterland Region and South Grafton were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Managers (17.2% compared to 8.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (13.3% compared to 19.3%)
