The size of Central Coast NSW's labour force in low income households in 2021 was 7,059, of which 2,989 were employed part-time and 1,064 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status of people in low income households (as a percentage of the labour force) in Central Coast NSW in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a higher proportion of people in low income households in employment, and a lower proportion unemployed. Overall, 73.4% of the labour force was employed, and 26.6% unemployed, compared with 71.2% and 28.8% respectively for Greater Sydney.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of people in low income households in Central Coast NSW in 2021 shows that there was a lower proportion in the labour force (17.5%) compared with Greater Sydney (20.3%).
Between 2016 and 2021, the number of people in low income households employed in Central Coast NSW showed a decrease of 4,452, and the number unemployed showed a decrease of 297. In the same period, the number of people in low income households in the labour force showed a decrease of 6,051 or 46.2%.
