Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Gorokan in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (611 people or 18.9%)
- Construction (409 people or 12.6%)
- Retail Trade (391 people or 12.1%)
In combination, these three industries employed 1,411 people in total or 43.6% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Blue Haven employed 17.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.9% in Construction; and 14.4% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Gorokan and Blue Haven were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (18.9% compared to 17.2%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (12.6% compared to 10.9%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (6.5% compared to 5.1%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in retail trade (12.1% compared to 14.4%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed people in Gorokan increased by 183 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the jobs held by the resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Gorokan were for those employed in:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+145 persons)
- Construction (+60 persons)
