Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Bateau Bay in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (631 males or 24.3%)
  • Retail Trade (224 males or 8.6%)
  • Manufacturing (198 males or 7.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,053 males in total or 40.5% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Umina Beach - Pearl Beach - Patonga employed 20.0% in Construction; 7.8% in Retail Trade; and 7.2% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Bateau Bay and Umina Beach - Pearl Beach - Patonga were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (24.3% compared to 20.0%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in education and training (6.0% compared to 4.2%)
