Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the Toukley District in 2021 compared to the Coastal District shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 19.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.2% were one-parent families, compared with 35.5% and 9.8% respectively for the Coastal District.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 33.8% compared to 18.0% in the Coastal District while the proportion of couples without children was 24.8% compared to 28.9% in the Coastal District.
