Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the Wyong District in 2021 compared to the Peninsula District shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 26.3% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 15.9% were one-parent families, compared with 20.1% and 13.0% respectively for the Peninsula District.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 24.6% compared to 32.1% in the Peninsula District while the proportion of couples without children was 23.1% compared to 25.1% in the Peninsula District.

The number of households in Wyong District increased by 1,467 between 2001 and 2021.
