Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Springfield in 2021 compared to Mountains shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 36.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 14.8% were one-parent families, compared with 27.1% and 8.7% respectively for Mountains.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 18.6% compared to 24.1% in Mountains while the proportion of couples without children was 23.9% compared to 26.5% in Mountains.
