Analysis of the household/family types in the Valleys District in 2021 compared to Hamlyn Terrace shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 40.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 8.1% were one-parent families, compared with 37.8% and 14.9% respectively for Hamlyn Terrace.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 11.1% compared to 16.5% in Hamlyn Terrace while the proportion of couples without children was 32.0% compared to 24.8% in Hamlyn Terrace.
