Analysis of the household/family types in the Northern Lakes District in 2021 compared to the Wyong District shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 21.9% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 11.6% were one-parent families, compared with 26.3% and 15.9% respectively for the Wyong District.
There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 27.5% compared to 24.6% in the Wyong District while the proportion of couples without children was 31.4% compared to 23.1% in the Wyong District.
The number of households in Northern Lakes District increased by 759 between 2016 and 2021.
