Dominant groups

Analysis of the families with children in Central Coast Council area in 2021 compared to the West Brisbane Water District shows that there was a smaller proportion of couples with young children, as well as a smaller proportion of couples with older children.

Overall, 14.2% of total households with children were couple with young children, and 8.9% were couples with older children, compared with 18.2% and 12.8% respectively for the West Brisbane Water District.

There were a larger proportion of single parent households with young children and a larger proportion of single parent households with older children. Overall, the proportion of single parent households with young children was 4.7% compared to 3.9% in the West Brisbane Water District while the proportion of single parent households with older children was 6.5% compared to 5.9% in the West Brisbane Water District.
