Dominant groups
Analysis of the female five year age groups of Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan in 2021 compared to Hamlyn Terrace shows that there was a lower proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 18.9% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 19.9% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 21.5% and 20.4% respectively for Hamlyn Terrace.
The major differences between the female age structure of Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan and Hamlyn Terrace were:
- A larger percentage of females aged 60 to 64 (5.6% compared to 3.7%)
- A larger percentage of females aged 55 to 59 (5.8% compared to 4.3%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 5 to 9 (6.2% compared to 7.5%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 85 and over (3.2% compared to 4.5%)
Emerging groups
From 1996 to 2021, Wyong, Warnervale and Gorokan's female population increased by 13,884 people (88.3%). This represents an average annual population change of 2.56% per year over the period.
The largest changes in female age structure in this area between 1996 and 2021 were in the age groups:
- 50 to 54 (+1,074 females)
- 55 to 59 (+1,062 females)
- 60 to 64 (+961 females)
- 45 to 49 (+914 females)
