Dominant groups

Analysis of the family blending in Valleys in 2021 compared to Budgewoi - Halekulani - Buff Point shows that there was a lower proportion of step families as well as a lower proportion of blended families. Overall, 10.5% of total couple families with children were step families, and 4.3% were blended families, compared with 14.0% and 7.2% respectively for Budgewoi - Halekulani - Buff Point.

There were a lower proportion of other families and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 0.0% compared to 0.8% in Budgewoi - Halekulani - Buff Point while the proportion of intact families was 85.2% compared to 78.1% in Budgewoi - Halekulani - Buff Point.
