Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of females in Central Coast NSW compared to the Northern Lakes District shows that there was a lower proportion of females who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 6.6% of the female population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 7.8% for the Northern Lakes District.

The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance in Gosford City and the Northern Lakes District were:

  • A larger percentage of females aged 85 and over (44.8% compared to 41.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of females aged 65 to 69 (6.2% compared to 9.9%)
