Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Central Coast NSW compared to the Valleys District shows that there was a higher proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 6.3% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 4.3% for the Valleys District.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Gosford City and the Valleys District were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (14.1% compared to 10.4%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 10 to 19 (5.0% compared to 2.7%)
