Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Central Coast NSW compared to the Valleys District shows that there was a higher proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 6.3% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 4.3% for the Valleys District.
The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Gosford City and the Valleys District were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (14.1% compared to 10.4%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 10 to 19 (5.0% compared to 2.7%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 85 and over (42.2% compared to 47.7%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 80 to 84 (21.6% compared to 25.3%)
