Analysis of the car ownership of people born overseas in the City of Casey in 2021 compared to Mitchell Shire shows that 96.9% of people born overseas were in households that owned at least one car, while 1.9% did not, compared with 95.7% and 3.0% respectively in Mitchell Shire.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion that owned just one car; a larger proportion owned two cars; and a similar proportion that owned three cars or more.
Overall, 20.6% of people born overseas were in households that owned one car; 45.8% owned two cars; and 30.5% owned three cars or more, compared with 22.5%; 42.7% and 30.5% respectively for Mitchell Shire.
