An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Harkaway in 2016 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (100 people or 23.1%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (76 people or 17.6%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (65 people or 15.0%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 241 people in total or 55.7% of the employed resident population.
