Dominant groups

Analysis of the country of birth of the Persian/Dari speaking population in the City of Casey in 2021 compared to Greater Melbourne shows that there was a smaller proportion of people born overseas.

Overall, 73.7% of the Persian/Dari speaking population was born overseas, compared with 80.3% for Greater Melbourne.

The major differences between the countries of birth of the Persian/Dari speaking population in the City of Casey and Greater Melbourne were:

  • A larger percentage of people born in Afghanistan (54.0% compared to 26.1%)
  • A larger percentage of people born in Pakistan (4.0% compared to 2.1%)
