Dominant groups
Analysis of the Arabic speaking population in the City of Casey in 2021 compared to Greater Melbourne shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a similar proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 18.1% of the Arabic speaking population was aged between 0 and 14, and 10.2% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 21.5% and 9.7% respectively for Greater Melbourne.
The major differences between the age groups of the Arabic speaking population in the City of Casey and Greater Melbourne were:
- A larger percentage of people aged 50 to 54 (7.1% compared to 5.7%)
- A smaller percentage of people aged 0 to 4 (4.5% compared to 6.2%)

From 2016 to 2021, City of Casey's Arabic speaking population increased by 784 people (17.8%). This represents an average annual population change of 3.33% per year over the period.
The largest changes in the age groups of the Arabic speaking population in this area between 2016 and 2021 were in the age groups:
- 40 to 44 (+108 persons)
- 25 to 29 (+80 persons)
- 55 to 59 (+75 persons)
- 60 to 64 (+64 persons)
