Dominant groups

Analysis of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander five age groups in the City of Casey in 2021 compared to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander in Yarra Ranges Council shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (0 to 14 years) and a lower proportion of people in the older age group (65+ years).

Overall, 35.4% of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population in the City of Casey was aged between 0 and 14, and 4.8% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 30.9% and 6.8% respectively for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander in Yarra Ranges Council.
