Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of males in the City of Casey compared to Pearcedale shows that there was a similar proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 5.8% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 6.0% for Pearcedale.

The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in Narre Warren and Pearcedale were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 85 and over (50.0% compared to 0.0%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 65 to 69 (12.7% compared to 3.4%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (26.1% compared to 19.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of males aged 80 to 84 (31.7% compared to 61.1%)
