Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types of recent arrivals in the City of Casey shows that there was a higher proportion of recent arrivals in couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion in one-parent families compared to the total population in 2016. Overall, 70.7% of recent arrivals were in couple families with child(ren) and 6.1% were in one-parent families, compared with 66.0% and 8.4% respectively for the total population.

There were a lower proportion of recent arrivals in lone person households and a lower proportion in couples without children. Overall, the proportion of recent arrivals in lone person households was 1.3% compared to 4.7% in the total population while the proportion in couples without children was 14.9% compared to 17.3% in the total population.
