Dominant groups
Analysis of the household/family types of people aged 25 to 54 years in the City of Casey in 2021 compared to Greater Melbourne, shows that there was a higher proportion of people aged 25 to 54 years in couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion in one-parent families. Overall, 63.8% of people aged 25 to 54 years were in couple families with child(ren), and 10.3% were in one-parent families, compared with 51.7% and 9.6% respectively for Greater Melbourne.
There was a lower proportion of people aged 25 to 54 years in lone person households and a lower proportion in couples without children. Overall, the proportion of people aged 25 to 54 years in lone person households was 4.7% compared to 9.3% in Greater Melbourne while the proportion of couples without children was 13.8% compared to 18.7% in Greater Melbourne.
