Dominant groups
Analysis of the year of arrival for the overseas born Arabic speaking population of City of Canterbury Bankstown in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a larger proportion of people who arrived before 2010, and a smaller proportion of recent overseas arrivals (those who arrived between 2016 and 2021).
Overall, 75.3% of the overseas born Arabic speaking population arrived before 2010, and 11.3% arrived during or after 2016, compared with 67.2% and 17.2% respectively for Greater Sydney.
The major differences between the year of arrival data of the Arabic speaking population of the City of Canterbury Bankstown and Greater Sydney were:
