Analysis of the car ownership of people born in South Africa in the City of Canning in 2021 compared to Greater Perth shows that 98.1% of people born in South Africa were in households that owned at least one car, while 1.2% did not, compared with 98.2% and 1.2% respectively in Greater Perth.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion that owned just one car; a smaller proportion owned two cars; and a smaller proportion that owned three cars or more.
Overall, 19.9% of people born in South Africa were in households that owned one car; 44.6% owned two cars; and 33.6% owned three cars or more, compared with 18.8%; 45.2% and 34.2% respectively for Greater Perth.
