Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Canada Bay in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (6,221 people or 13.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (5,796 people or 12.5%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (4,488 people or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 16,505 people in total or 35.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Sydney employed 10.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 13.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 7.0% in Financial and Insurance Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Canada Bay and Greater Sydney were:
