Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Tongala and District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (205 females or 23.1%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (133 females or 15.0%)
  • Retail Trade (111 females or 12.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 449 females in total or 50.6% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Campaspe Shire employed 27.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.2% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 11.8% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Tongala and District and Campaspe Shire were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (15.0% compared to 8.2%)
