Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Tongala and District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (393 people or 21.3%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (231 people or 12.5%)
  • Manufacturing (210 people or 11.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 834 people in total or 45.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Australia employed 2.3% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 14.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 5.9% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Tongala and District and Australia were:
