Five year age groups

In 2021, the largest age group in the Established District was 0 to 4 year olds. The group that changed the most since 1996 was 35 to 39 year olds, increasing by 3,707 people.

Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of the Established District in 2021 compared to Harrington Park - Kirkham shows that there was a similar proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 24.3% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 10.3% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 24.0% and 9.1% respectively for Harrington Park - Kirkham.

The major differences between the age structure of the Established District and Harrington Park - Kirkham were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 30 to 34 (7.8% compared to 5.0%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (6.8% compared to 4.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 45 to 49 (7.3% compared to 9.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 15 to 19 (6.9% compared to 8.9%)
