Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City Beach in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (568 people or 17.5%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (491 people or 15.2%)
  • Education and Training (322 people or 9.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,381 people in total or 42.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the Town of Cambridge employed 18.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 15.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 10.1% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of City Beach and the Town of Cambridge were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (7.5% compared to 6.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (3.5% compared to 4.8%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed people in City Beach increased by 383 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the resident population between 2016 and 2021 in City Beach were for those employed in:
