Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in City of Burnside in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,830 males or 16.2%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,414 males or 12.5%)
  • Construction (934 males or 8.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,178 males in total or 37.0% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Beaumont Ward employed 16.4% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 14.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 7.8% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the City of Burnside and Beaumont Ward were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in retail trade (7.6% compared to 6.5%)
