Division 5's occupation statistics quantify the occupations in which the residents work (which may be within the residing area or elsewhere). This will be influenced by the economic base and employment opportunities available in the area, education levels, and the working and social aspirations of the population. When viewed with other indicators, such as Educational Qualifications and Individual Income, Occupation is a key measure for evaluating Division 5's socio-economic status and skill base.

'In the main job held last week, what was the person's occupation?' and 'What are the main tasks that the person himself/herself usually performs in that occupation?'
Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Division 5 in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (602 females or 30.8%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (381 females or 19.5%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (372 females or 19.0%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,355 females in total or 69.3% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, Innes Park - Elliott Heads - Coral Cove employed 27.9% in Professionals; 18.1% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 20.3% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Division 5 and Innes Park - Elliott Heads - Coral Cove were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Professionals (30.8% compared to 27.9%)
- A larger percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (19.5% compared to 18.1%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Sales Workers (8.7% compared to 11.3%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (19.0% compared to 20.3%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in Division 5 increased by 417 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2016 and 2021 in Division 5 were for those employed as:
- Community and Personal Service Workers (+118 females)
- Professionals (+117 females)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (+83 females)
