Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Bundaberg Regional Council in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (5,811 females or 30.1%)
  • Education and Training (2,445 females or 12.7%)
  • Retail Trade (2,354 females or 12.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 10,610 females in total or 54.9% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Regional QLD employed 24.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.3% in Education and Training; and 11.6% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Bundaberg Regional Council and Regional QLD were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (30.1% compared to 24.5%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (6.6% compared to 2.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (3.5% compared to 5.1%)
