Analysis of the housing tenure of households of Hawthorn in 2021 compared to the City of Boroondara shows that there was a smaller proportion of households who owned their dwelling; a smaller proportion purchasing their dwelling; and a larger proportion who were renters.
Overall, 25.8% of households owned their dwelling; 23.9% were purchasing, and 44.0% were renting, compared with 37.8%, 28.9% and 28.2% respectively for the City of Boroondara.
