Dominant groups
Analysis of female individual income levels in Ashburton in 2021 compared to Glen Iris shows that there was a lower proportion of females earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a higher proportion of low income females (those earning less than $500 per week).
Overall, 19.0% of the female population earned a high income, and 34.7% earned a low income, compared with 19.7% and 31.8% respectively for Glen Iris.
The major differences between Ashburton's female individual incomes and Glen Iris's female individual incomes were:
- A larger percentage of females who earned $400 - $499 (7.3% compared to 5.5%)
- A smaller percentage of females who earned $1,000 - $1,249 (6.4% compared to 7.5%)
- A smaller percentage of females who earned $1,500 - $1,749 (5.6% compared to 6.5%)
- A smaller percentage of females who earned $1,250 - $1,499 (6.0% compared to 7.0%)
