Dominant groups

Analysis of the service age groups of Ward 4 in 2021 compared to Wolli Creek - Bonar Street Precinct shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) as well as a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (60+ years).

Overall, 19.0% of the population was aged between 0 and 17, and 21.1% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 10.0% and 4.7% respectively for Wolli Creek - Bonar Street Precinct.

The major differences between the age structure of Ward 4 and Wolli Creek - Bonar Street Precinct were:

  • A larger percentage of 'Seniors' (8.9% compared to 1.5%)
  • A larger percentage of 'Older workers & pre-retirees' (11.3% compared to 4.3%)
