Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the Macedonian speaking resident population in Bayside Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (376 people or 19.4%)
- Professionals (325 people or 16.7%)
- Labourers (262 people or 13.5%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 963 people in total or 49.6% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Greater Sydney employed 18.6% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; 17.9% in Professionals; and 12.7% in Labourers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the Macedonian speaking population of Bayside Council area and Greater Sydney were:
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Managers (11.1% compared to 12.5%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Professionals (16.7% compared to 17.9%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed Macedonian speakers in Bayside Council area decreased by 300 between 2016 and 2021.
