Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Mascot in 2021 compared to Bayside Council area shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 22.6% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 6.5% were one-parent families, compared with 28.8% and 9.6% respectively for Bayside Council area.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 20.6% compared to 24.0% in Bayside Council area while the proportion of couples without children was 30.2% compared to 24.7% in Bayside Council area.
