Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Baw Baw Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,282 females or 25.2%)
  • Education and Training (1,936 females or 14.9%)
  • Retail Trade (1,397 females or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 6,615 females in total or 50.9% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Drouin (North) employed 25.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 16.5% in Education and Training; and 11.8% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Baw Baw Shire and Drouin (North) were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (6.0% compared to 2.6%)
