Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Bathurst Regional Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,367 people or 16.5%)
  • Education and Training (2,307 people or 11.3%)
  • Retail Trade (1,938 people or 9.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 7,612 people in total or 37.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional NSW employed 16.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.2% in Education and Training; and 9.4% in Retail Trade.
