Analysis of the household/family types of people aged 55 to 64 years in Bass Coast Shire in 2021 compared to Regional VIC, shows that there was a lower proportion of people aged 55 to 64 years in couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion in one-parent families. Overall, 15.0% of people aged 55 to 64 years were in couple families with child(ren), and 6.4% were in one-parent families, compared with 20.6% and 7.8% respectively for Regional VIC.
There was a higher proportion of people aged 55 to 64 years in lone person households and a higher proportion in couples without children.
