Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in The Barossa Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Manufacturing (2,269 people or 18.5%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,414 people or 11.5%)
  • Retail Trade (1,101 people or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,784 people in total or 39.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Williamstown - Barossa Goldfields and District employed 12.3% in Manufacturing; 12.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 7.9% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of The Barossa Council area and Williamstown - Barossa Goldfields and District were:
