Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the Vietnamese speaking resident population in City of Banyule in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (183 people or 37.4%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (68 people or 13.9%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (53 people or 10.8%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 304 people in total or 62.2% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 19.5% in Professionals; 10.8% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 12.1% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the Vietnamese speaking population of the City of Banyule and Greater Melbourne were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Professionals (37.4% compared to 19.5%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (3.1% compared to 10.8%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Labourers (9.6% compared to 15.2%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (8.2% compared to 11.5%)
