Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Banyule in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (8,015 females or 25.4%)
  • Education and Training (5,012 females or 15.9%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (2,930 females or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 15,957 females in total or 50.5% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Viewbank employed 24.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 16.8% in Education and Training; and 9.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Banyule and Viewbank were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (9.0% compared to 7.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (4.3% compared to 6.1%)
