Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in West Precinct in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,258 people or 18.7%)
  • Education and Training (650 people or 9.6%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (590 people or 8.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,498 people in total or 37.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Banyule employed 16.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.2% in Education and Training; and 10.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of West Precinct and the City of Banyule were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (18.7% compared to 16.4%)
