Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Mid Precinct in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,122 people or 17.8%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,473 people or 12.4%)
  • Education and Training (1,381 people or 11.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,976 people in total or 41.8% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Heidelberg employed 21.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.4% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 11.2% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Mid Precinct and Heidelberg were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (7.4% compared to 6.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (17.8% compared to 21.0%)
