Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Ivanhoe in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (1,219 people or 16.6%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (996 people or 13.6%)
- Education and Training (825 people or 11.3%)
In combination, these three industries employed 3,040 people in total or 41.5% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Eaglemont employed 17.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 9.8% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Ivanhoe and Eaglemont were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (11.3% compared to 9.8%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in rental, hiring and real estate services (2.0% compared to 3.3%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in construction (6.1% compared to 7.4%)

The largest changes in the jobs held by the resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Ivanhoe were for those employed in:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+171 persons)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (+168 persons)
- Financial and Insurance Services (+110 persons)
- Construction (+101 persons)
